Ductless Heat Pumps
A ductless heat pump system connects an outdoor unit to an indoor unit to heat or cool a specific area of a home or building without the use of any ductwork.
An outdoor unit is placed outside of your home at ground level and connected to an indoor unit. Typically, the indoor unit is mounted on an interior wall and pre-set to run automatically. You can adjust the heat or cooling as needed through a remote control, making it easy to stay comfortable.
There are two types of ductless heating systems: Mini-Split and Multi-Split:
- Mini-Split – Allows you to control the temperature of one area.
- Multi-Split – Can connect to up to 5 indoor units, letting you control the temperatures in several different areas of your home.
Ductless systems are ideal for homes that don’t have central heating or cooling. They are also a great solution for homes that have additions built onto them or areas converted into living spaces, like an attic or unfinished basement. Instead of fussing with the existing ductwork, ductless systems allow homeowners to provide heat and cooling to that area of the home at a lower cost.
